The Food Safety Modernization Act: What You Need to Know to Comply

With the recent passage of the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010 (FSMA), the most sweeping changes regarding U.S. food safety regulations in 70 years will take place beginning in 2011. The new law will affect all businesses, foreign and domestic, involved in the U.S. food supply chain and require these companies to meet new requirements related to food safety plans, certification standards and mandatory recalls. This timely and informative webinar will explain the new requirements, and how your company can navigate this new regulatory landscape and ensure compliance. The following are among the topics that will be addressed:

  • Hazard analysis; evaluation of potential contamination
  • Written safety plans
  • Verification of controls
  • Certification of imports
  • FDA’s ability to suspend or revoke registration
  • Safety standards for certain food categories
  • FDA penalties and mandatory recalls; imposition of criminal and civil penalties

This webinar will be presented by Edgar Asebey-Birkholm, Esq., Edward Steiner and esteemed guest speaker, Professor James O’Reilly. Click on this link for more details and register for Thursdays seminar.
