Perfection vs. Success in your Food Enterprise!

"Ring the bells that still can ring Forget your perfect offering There is a crack, a crack in everything That's how the light gets in." -Leonard Cohen Running your food business is about serving customers and making decisions on a day to day basis. I have seen many food entrepreneurs get bogged down and spend too much time on their label, website, or other brand issue or building a production facility prior to selling a single unit of product. "Forget branding, concentrate on sales!" Get version 1 of your item onto the market and start connecting with consumers with your product. If you are sampling and demonstrating your product, your label will have little impact in growing your business. Sure, the label is an important tool but it is far down the list on your big marketing and consumer connection activities. Get as attractive a label or package possible but understand it will always be a work in progress just like all of your company including your website. What actions are you taking to grow your business? Send a note or comments to mailto:tim@timforrest.com also, follow me on Twitter I want to hear about your success!
